Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale has attacked Charterhouse for coming out to say his songs will not be nominated. He has criticized and harshly expressed his disappointment with how they handled his ban issue.

In January this year, the chief executive officer of Charterhouse, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana music award did state that they are yet to decide if Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy will be nominated.

The decision to ban the two artists was taken by the previous board and new one have been reconstituted. The new board is yet to meet to decide on the way forward, but we’ll announce the way forward after our meeting with the stakeholders of the industry.

Nominations were opened by the organizers for entry by industry players. Charterhouse held a press conference where they stated that the house hasn’t lifted the ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. Their reason was their case is still pending in the court.

This decision by the organization has erupted anger from the artist. On Wednesday 12 February, the dancehall artist took to his Facebook wall to lambast Charterhouse.

According to Shatta, he’s not interested in the award and blamed his colleague, musician who celebrates when Charterhouse nominates them.

He also brags about how his Rolex watch is more expensive than the money the award fetches if you win. The controversial artists also touched on how he made his money without the help of Charterhouse, Musiga or any other musical institution in the country.

You’ve opened for nomination filing, do your awards. Don’t tell us you’ve banned us because you don’t have the right to do so.

Nobody helped to make money, not Charterhouse or musiga. I made my own money with my brains and hard work.
