A fake lawyer has been arrested in Techiman- Bono region circuit court. The suspected fake lawyer was arrested when he showed up in court to seek bail for his four clients.
Iddrisu Yahaya appeared in court properly clad in a lawyer garb representing four accused people who claimed to have given him a sum Ghc25.000.00
The four men, currently on robbery, kidnapping and murder trial are under investigation by Techiman Divisional police.
A Yahaya’s arrest was made possible by His Lordship Justice Alexander Graham. According to the Techiman police commander, he received a call from His Lordship Justice Graham. He said Justice Alexander Graham told him a man has appeared in his court claiming to be a lawyer.
Additional Information from the judge stated that his demeanour and how he presented his case suggested the man was trying to impersonate. The police then followed up and arrested Iddrisu Yahaya.
Yahaya is a 34-year-old graduate junior high school teacher from the central region. When joy news camera caught up with him, he told them he’s a lawyer. The suspect claimed he graduated in September 2019 from a private law school in Ghana.
Yahaya claims he has been practicing law for the past two years and the said case was his third as a lawyer. When questioned, the suspect later admitted that he was practicing law illegally.
He was handed over to the Techiman Divisional Police Command to assist with further investigations.
