The Ghanaian entertainment channel, GHOne TV went off the air on Tuesday 18th of February 2020. According to a report carried out by the Ghanareport.com, the technicians in charge of cameras at the TV station refused to work. Their reason was that GhOne TV, a subsidiary of EIB network owes outstanding salaries.
Some technicians said the station owns them an outstanding salary up to six months salary arrears. The station is not broadcasting for the entire day as reports suggested. The technicians boycotted started during the station’s breakfast show.
Employees have resigned in the past over poor working conditions, but this has been the first time employees have boycotted work despite all their financial trouble.
The chief executive officer of the station, Kwabena Anokye Adisi popularly known as Bola Ray is reported to have called for an abrupt meeting with the workers to solve the problem.

The station for the past two years has been confronted with financial crises. This situation has led to the exit of some top journalist from their station. The chief executive officer of GhOne TV had come out to debunk the story that the outlet is not in financial crises.
Meanwhile, some workers of GhOne TV complained that the company focuses more on the top journalists like Nana Aba Anamoah and Sewaa Amihere. Some workers believe they duo receive better working conditions than others in the outfit.
