How to find a missing AirPods

To find a missing could prove disturbing considering how small and sleek it is. But there is always a way out. To begin with, use Find My to see your AirPods on a map then play a sound to locate them.

Find your AirPods using a computer

If the above method doesn’t work for you, the procedure below to locate your AirPods.

  1. Go to iCloud.com.
  2. Sign in with your ID connected with your iPhone.
  3. Open Find iPhone.
  4. Click All Devices, then select and click your AirPods.

Then your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Open the Find My app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Choose your AirPods.

Under each device, you see a location, or “No location found.”



In some instances, your missing AirPods may be separated from each other, so you’ll only see one location at a time on the map. Don’t worry, just find the AirPod that you’ve pinned on the map. Put it in its case—then refresh the map and find the other AirPods.

Finding your AirPods using sound

This procedure can be performed if your missing AirPods are close to any of your Apple devices and connected to Bluetooth. In such situations you can play a sound to help you locate them from iCloud.com or the Find My app. 

  1. Open the Find My app.
  2. Select the Devices tab.
  3. Choose your AirPods from the list.
  4. Tap Play Sound.
