‘Freedom Coin’ is not approved – Bank of Ghana warns

The central bank of Ghana has released a statement to warn the Ghanaian public against ‘Freedom Coin’ — a cryptocurrency coin that is about to be launched by Ghanaian businessman, Nana Kwame Bediako aka Cheddar.

The statement from the central bank came after Cheddar organized his own ‘Independence Day’ and addressed some youth he gathered to reveal his plan to launch a new cryptocurrency named “Freedom Coin”.

However, even before the cryptocurrency [Freedom Coin] makes its way its way onto the market, the Central Bank has released the statement to warn potential buyers of the cryptocurrency to stay away from it.

“It has come to the attention of Bank of Ghana that there is an impending launch of a cryptocurrency named “Freedom Coin”. The public is hereby cautioned that neither this cryptocurrency nor the promoting company has approval from Bank of Ghana to operate in the banking and payment sector”
