Huawei Nova 7i features, specs and review

Huawei Nova 7i comes in handy from a company that never stops instilling its customers even after being hit by a massive setback. Expectations were low, for a tech company that underwent business impediment as Huawei did. Only a few companies could stand that trial. The Huawei Nova 7i is a budget smartphone from the Nova series.

Huawei Nova 7i specs.

Huawei in its recent release has stuck to the same Kirin Chipset and that didn’t change with the Nova 7i as it is equipped with kirin 810 Chipset. The Nova 7i is powered by Octa-core 2x Cortex- A76 2.27 GHz + 6xCortex- A55 1.88GHz. This is narrowly below the Nova 5T and Honor 20.

Huawei however, continues to produce smartphones, utilizing the Android operating system, but it doesn’t come equipped with Google Apps. Hence, the Nova 7i runs on Android 10.0 based on EMUI 10.01 without pre-installed Google Apps.

The device has a storage of 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM. Unlike the Nova 5T, Huawei provided an option to expand storage up to 256GB using a nano SD Card.

The camera setup of the Nova 7i at first site numerically looks identical to that of Nova 5T. The difference between the two is the camera setup on the Nova 7i duplicated the triple camera setup of the iPhone 11 Pro and added an additional camera making it quad-camera set up at the back of the device.

The quad-camera layout of the Nova 7i has been arranged in a ‘squircle’ shape with 48MP (wide), 8MP (Ultrawide), 2MP (micro) and 2MP (depth) being the rare camera. The front camera features a 16MP selfie with Bokeh feature.

Huawei Nova 7i offers a non-removable Li-Po 4200 Milliamp battery. Which isn’t bad for a budget phone. Moreover, Huawei does so well in optimizing its devices to curb battery drain. The Nova 7i also supports fast charging and highly secure facial unlock.

The Huawei Nova 7i is considerably a great phone, although there isn’t a huge difference comparing it to the Nova 5T. What the Nova 7i misses out in the camera, it replaces it in the battery.

One advantage of the Nova 7i is it comes with Android 10 from the box. Notwithstanding, the Nova 5T have access to Google Apps which the Nova 7i does not.

In a nutshell, purchasing a smartphone is based on individual choice. If you can’t do without the play store, go for the Nova 7i, but if you’re like me then the Nova 5T or Honor 20 will do.
