Ghanaian veteran actress Adwoa Pee has disclosed how Jackie Appiah treated her when she called her on a phone to ask the actress to support her with money for her Kidney Surgery.
Adwoa Pee revealed in an interview that she was admitted to Korle Bu Hospital for several illnesses, including kidney stones.
Adwoa pee stated that she needed 6,000 cedis in addition to what she already saved, and thus sought to seek donations from her colleagues in the movie industry — according to her she called Jackie Appiah because they had a very good relationship.
When they appeared on the same set, Jackie Appiah calls her mama and she refers to her as a daughter — therefore if there was one person who could help her in times of need, it was Jackie.
Unfortunately for Adwoa Pee, when she called, Jackie Appiah hung up as soon as she told her problem. When I called, she first asked, ‘Are you still in Virginia?’ I informed her that I had been in Ghana for some time and needed 6,000 cedis for my kidney surgery.
“At that precise moment, she cut the line on me”.
The actress indicated that she made several calls to Jackie’s phone after she first one, however, Jackie didn’t respond to any of her calls. At some point, she realized her daughter was unprepared to support her in any way.
Nonetheless, she followed up with a text message to Jackie’s phone requesting Kalsoume Sinare’s contact information but never got a reply.
The actress said she was and still is hurt by Jackie’s behavior. “Jackie’s attitude pains me more than the pains from the kidney stone” she adddd.
Adwoa Pee said she later contacted Nana Ama McBrown — she was willing to help but at that same time, she had spent so much money abroad for surgery as well.
I was happy with how MacBrown treated me and wished Jackie had acted similarly.
