OnePlus has confirmed it will release two phones, Oneplus 8 and the OnePlus 8 pro. However, Rumours disseminating seems to suggest that there could be OnePlus 8 lite which has not yet been confirmed by the company. For the purposes of this post, I’m going to focus on the 8 Pro.

From the numerous leaks, it appears the OnePlus 8 pro is identical to the Oppo find x2 series. The similarity of the two devices is relatively understandable given that Oppo is a sister company of OnePlus.

OnePlus 8 Pro feature

The OnePlus 8 Pro feature a 6.78 inch superfluid OLED display [QHD+] with 120Hz refresh rate. As seen in most smartphones, the 8 Pro has an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. OnePlus ditched the pop-up camera as seen in the 7T for a punch-hole front-facing camera. The device has also been equipped with an aluminium frame and curved glass [back and from] and IP68 water and dust resistant feature.

Nonetheless am guessing the reason OnePlus replaced the pop-up camera in the previous design with a punch-hole is to make room for the IP68 concept. Another feature we’re to expect from the 8 Pro is the facial IP ratings.

OnePlus 8 Pro Camera

The OnePlus 8 Pro is going to have the quad-camera setup with the rear cameras positioned to the exact spot as the 7T. According to the leaked camera of the 8 Pro device, the primary camera of the device are a 48MP f1.8 OIS [IMX669], Ultra-wide 48MP f2.2 OIS [IMX586], Telephoto 8MP f2.4 OIS [3x Optical Zoom], 5MP colour filter and a 16MP selfie camera.

Oneplus Performance

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 X55 [5G mobile platform]. For the storage, the 8 Pro comes 128/256GB, UFS 3.0 with either 8/12 GB of Ram LPDDR5. It will be operated on the Android 10 base on Oxygen OS. Rumour has it that the device has dual stereo speakers [ the usual bottom speaker and the other in the earpiece section].

The 8 Pro comes with 4510mAh which also support 30W Warp and fast charging and 3W reverse wireless charging. Bearing in mind that this is going be the first-ever wireless charging smartphone from OnePlus, the expectations are very high. This is going to a massive boost compared to what the 7T Pro offered. 8 Pro comes in three different colours: Black, Blue and Green.
