Rufftown records artist, Wendy Addo, fondly called Wendy Shay in showbiz circles has had her late single, “Pray For The World” taken down by YouTube.
Wendy Shay released the song, “Pray For The World”, on 31st December 2020 to mark the end of a year and highlight some of the lows the year brought to the lives of many.
But just when the song was getting some buzz online, Youtube has deleted the song from their platform.
Youtube deleted the song because Wendy Shay somehow sampled the popular ‘Jerusalema’ beat for her new single and as such, it got reported.
Earlier on Twitter, the producer of the song, MOG Beats went hard on Ghanaians who allegedly—out of hate for Wendy reported her to get the song deleted.
Why am hearing that a group of people went to report Wendy Shay’s “Pray For The World” video and now YouTube has taken it down for what?!! I am angry!!. Ow Ghana so this is how bad you guys hate @wendyshaygh ? I am disappointed I cannot lie to you!.
In reaction to this, Wendy Shay also took to Instagram to claim that she was taking Youtube on legally because they have treated her wrongly.
@mogbeatz this is the Country we are living in ooo …I will fight for my right because Pray for the World has a different chord progression from Jerusalema.
SHAYGANG don’t worry my lawyers are dealing with YouTube
